Biography

Pablo Fernandez-Santos is the Chief Engineering and Program Officer for BASQUEVOLT, a battery cell and energy storage cutting edge startup that aims to become a world leader in solid state batteries.
BASQUEVOLT was founded in 2022 and aims to produce solid state batteries based on a unique European technology by 2027. This achievement will enable a step forward in our hope for a cleaner world by a potential mass deployment of electric transportation, stationary energy storage and advanced portable devices.
Before joining BASQUEVOLT, Pablo has developed a career in the automotive sector for more than 20 years holding several executive positions in Renault Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance. Before joining this company, Pablo was the Program Director for Renault SUV family (including Renault Austral) as a key contributor to transition between traditional ICE vehicles and future EV vehicles and before that he was the leader of CMFB Common Renault Nissan platform as the first electrified Platform of the Alliance.

Pablo has an Engineering degree (Industrial and Mechanical) by Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales of Valladolid and holds a General Management Program (GMP) from CEDEP Executive Development Fontainebleau.
